Scientists have found that animals are one of the most powerful triggers of human fear.

In order to make a rating of the most “terrible” animals for people, an experiment was conducted in which about 2,000 online participants from the Czech Republic and Slovakia took part. 24 animals are considered, which most often cause fear in people. So, the first place in the ranking was taken by spiders, which scored 4.39 points out of five for fear and 4.47 points for disgust.
it was found that almost 19% of volunteers experienced a strong fear, seeing a photograph of a spider. Researchers noted that arachnophobia, or fear of theralds, is a fairly common phobia among people.
Scientists say that people are afraid of spiders because of their bizarre body structure and a tendency to quick and unpredictable movements. In addition, spiders often hide in dark shelters.
The second place was taken by poisonous vipers. Their pictures caused fear in 10% of volunteers. Significant fear among the participants in the study was caused by mice, rats and bats. A small percentage of volunteers scared horses, bulls, dogs and cats.
