Ukraine declares its desire for peace and readiness for negotiations to end the war. An important step in this direction was the meeting with US officials in Saudi Arabia. The Ukrainian side approached the discussion with a “very open” position and expressed readiness for constructive dialogue.
This was reported by URA-Inform, citing CNN.
Before the start of negotiations in Jeddah, Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak emphasized the importance of discussing mechanisms for launching the peace process.
“We want to have a very constructive, deep, friendly and partnership-based conversation with our American allies,” he said.
One of the key issues, according to Yermak, is obtaining security guarantees from the United States, which will prevent the possibility of new aggression from Russia after reaching a peace agreement. However, he did not specify what compromises Ukraine is ready to make during potential negotiations.
The talks between Ukrainian and US representatives in Saudi Arabia, in addition to a peaceful settlement, also touch on issues of continued American support. Among the priority topics are the resumption of aid to Ukraine, as well as the transfer of intelligence data that could play an important role in strategic planning.
Experts note that the United States continues to actively support Ukraine, but the prospects for possible peace agreements will largely depend on the political situation and the further development of the conflict.
