Russian troops continue active offensive actions in the Kursk region, which is confirmed by data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to combat maps published on March 10 and 11, the zone held by Ukrainian forces has shrunk, and Russian units have advanced closer to Sudzha.

URA-Inform reports on the situation in the Kursk region, citing a report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Advancement of Russian troops
According to the Ukrainian General Staff, Russian troops have been increasing pressure in this direction since early March. Their goal is to break through to the settlements of Basivka and Yunakovka in the Sumy region. Particular attention is being paid to the attempt to cut off the strategically important Sudzha-Sumy road, which could lead to the encirclement of Ukrainian troops in this area.

Attacks and airstrikes
On March 10, Ukrainian units repelled 11 attacks, while the Russian army carried out 41 airstrikes, using 61 guided bombs, and carried out 272 artillery attacks, 19 of which were carried out from multiple launch rocket systems. The intensity of attacks increased the following day – on March 11, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 33 attacks, while Russian troops carried out 22 airstrikes, using 28 aerial bombs, and carried out 280 artillery attacks, nine of which were from MLRS.

Current situation
The situation in the Kursk region continues to deteriorate as the Russian Armed Forces actively advance. According to Ukrainian sources, the Ukrainian Armed Forces command is developing measures to stabilize the situation and planning counterattacks.

“The enemy is trying to create an operational encirclement of Ukrainian troops, and in response to this, all possible actions are being taken to hold the borders,” military sources say.

The escalation of hostilities in the area requires increased attention, as control over key routes can significantly affect the further course of events.
