The talks between Ukrainian and US representatives held in Saudi Arabia have provoked an expected reaction from the Kremlin. The Russian leadership expressed dissatisfaction with the results of the meeting, noting that such diplomatic steps do not contribute to achieving peace.

This was reported by URA-Inform, with reference to Meduza.

Moscow's position
The Kremlin said that discussions of the future conflict without Russia's participation cannot lead to real results. According to the official representative, “any peace initiatives that ignore the position of one of the parties are doomed to failure.”

What Russia is not happy with
The main source of criticism has been Ukraine's security cooperation with the United States, with Moscow fearing that such meetings will lead to increased military aid to Kyiv, complicating possible talks on ending the fighting.

How does this affect the conflict?
The Kremlin also noted that the West's continued military support for Ukraine only worsens the situation. Russian authorities have repeatedly stated that such steps make a peaceful settlement increasingly difficult.

Despite criticism from Moscow, the meeting in Saudi Arabia demonstrated that the United States and its allies continue to support Ukraine and seek ways to resolve the conflict diplomatically. How the situation will develop further depends largely on the next steps of all parties.
