New rules for public transport during air raids will come into force in Kyiv on March 21. According to the decision of the City Defense Council, all public transport, including both municipal and private routes, will continue to operate, but with important changes. The main goal is to ensure the safety of passengers by allowing them to remain near shelters during alarms.

This was reported by URA-Inform, citing the Telegram channel of the Kyiv City State Administration.

The source notes that in the event of an air raid, transport will stop near shelters located along the route. Passengers will be able to leave the vehicle if they deem it necessary, and drivers will inform about the possibility of continuing the trip after passengers leave the cabin. It is important to note that drivers will also have the right to decide to go to shelter if the situation requires it.

In addition, it was indicated that the changes will only affect ground transport. The movement of trains of the Kyiv metro will remain unchanged for now, with restrictions for the ground part of the metro during declared air raid alarms.

These measures are aimed at increasing the level of safety and efficiency in a situation where it is important to minimize risks for passengers. Public transport, despite unusual conditions, will continue to provide citizens with transportation, while it is important to remember that safety is the top priority.

The decisions made to change the operation of public transport in Kyiv reflect the current security needs in the conditions of war and air threats. Passengers will be able to receive information about possible stops and further actions of drivers, which will create calmer conditions for moving around the city.
