US President Donald Trump continues to repeat false claims about the alleged encirclement of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers in the Kursk region, despite information from US intelligence agencies refuting these claims.
URA-Inform reports this, citing Reuters .
According to the source, US intelligence informed the White House that in fact Ukrainian troops retreated to more advantageous positions and no encirclement of large forces occurred.
Several U.S. and European intelligence sources confirmed that the CIA and other U.S. agencies shared this assessment with the White House last week. But Trump continues to insist that Ukrainian forces have been encircled in the Kursk region, echoing Russian disinformation.

Expert Mark Cancian, a retired Marine colonel and senior adviser at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, believes that these lies are part of a Russian strategy to undermine the morale of the Ukrainian people and convince the world that Ukraine’s resistance is futile.
“Trump has decided to play along with Putin. This way he hopes to make Ukraine more accommodating,” the expert believes.
