During a recent phone call between the presidents of Ukraine and the United States, Volodymyr Zelensky asked Donald Trump for additional assistance in strengthening Ukraine's defense. White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt confirmed that one of the main issues was the provision of new air defense systems, in particular, Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems.

This was reported by URA-Inform, citing the DW Ukraine Telegram channel.

Zelensky said Ukraine needs additional air defense systems to protect civilians, and particularly emphasized the importance of Patriot systems. Trump agreed to support Ukraine in this matter and promised assistance in finding available systems, including those that could be provided from Europe. This step could significantly strengthen the defense of Ukrainian cities from possible air threats.

Levitt also noted that placing Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities, including nuclear power plants, under U.S. control could be the “best protection” for these facilities. U.S. support in managing such critical facilities would help Ukraine improve the security of its energy infrastructure, which is under attack from adversaries.

Such cooperation between Ukraine and the United States is an important step in strengthening Ukraine’s national security and energy stability. In light of ongoing threats and attacks on infrastructure, such measures can play a key role in protecting the country.
