On the eve of planned negotiations on a partial ceasefire, Russia launched a new massive attack on Ukrainian territory. One of the main targets of the attack was Odessa, where Russian drones launched a powerful strike on civilian objects in the city.
URA-Inform reports this, citing the BILD Telegram channel in Russian.
As a result of the shelling, as reported by the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, more than 15 explosions thundered in the city, and apartment buildings, shopping centers and enterprises were damaged.
“Odesa is burning, Russian drones hit civilian objects in the city,” Yermak said, adding that at least three people were injured. Power outages were also recorded in some areas of Odessa. The strike was part of a large-scale attack aimed at destroying the city's infrastructure.

There were also strikes on other Ukrainian cities. Zaporizhia also suffered from Russian shelling. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, six people were injured in the attack, including a child. Fires engulfed several residential buildings and cars. Despite warnings from Ukrainian aviation about the approaching drones, it was not possible to prevent all the strikes.
These attacks are part of Russia’s strategy to destroy infrastructure and destabilize the situation in Ukraine, especially as negotiations for a partial ceasefire are underway. The impact of these attacks on the negotiating process remains uncertain, but they clearly show that the conflict is not abating despite peace efforts.
