In Kyiv, enhanced control over car parking in residential courtyards is being introduced. This decision was made in response to problems that arose during a recent massive drone attack, when emergency services were unable to quickly reach the affected areas due to improperly parked cars.
This was reported by URA-Inform, citing the Kiev City Council website .
The head of the city military administration (GVA) Timur Tkachenko noted that during the attacks on residential areas, rescuers encountered difficulties in deploying rescue operations. Incorrect parking of cars in courtyards prevented emergency services from accessing the necessary locations, which complicated the work of rescuers.
In this regard, the Department of Municipal Security and the Department of Territorial Control of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) will intensify inspections of residential areas for violations of parking rules. Management companies, condominium associations and housing cooperatives will also join the process. These measures are aimed at ensuring free access for emergency services if necessary.
The head of the State Automobile Inspectorate called on all Kyiv residents to support this initiative and remember the importance of leaving courtyards free for rescuers and other emergency services. Drivers should be attentive and adhere to the new parking rules to avoid fines and help create a safe environment in the city.
