Breakfast is rightfully considered one of the most important meals. It not only starts the metabolism in the morning, but also directly affects the level of energy, concentration and general well-being during the day. However, many still ignore the morning meal, not suspecting what it can mean for health.

This was reported by URA-Inform, citing Eating Well .

Mayo Clinic cardiologist Dr. Francisco Lopez-Jimenez points out that skipping breakfast is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. “Eating in the morning kick-starts your metabolism and provides the energy you need to get through the day,” he explains.

Nutritionist Claire Rifkin adds that breakfast is an opportunity to properly fuel the body. “It’s not just a meal, but an important ritual to support the body and mind,” the specialist notes. Skipping breakfast often leaves people feeling hungry later, which leads to overeating or poor food choices.

It is especially important not to skip breakfast for people watching their weight. Despite the popular belief that skipping meals in the morning helps you lose weight, research shows the opposite. Those who eat breakfast regularly are less likely to be obese and have more stable blood sugar levels.

Nutritionist Gaby McPherson emphasizes that skipping breakfast without a clear meal plan for the day can throw off your routine and harm your health. To get the most benefit, it is recommended to start the day with foods rich in fiber, protein and vitamins – these can be fruits, whole grain cereals, eggs or yogurt.
