The North Atlantic Alliance fears that a temporary ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine could lead not to peace, but to a protracted conflict. As Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, head of the NATO Military Committee, noted in an interview, the so-called “freezing” of the war is one of the most dangerous scenarios.
This was reported by URA-Inform, citing RBC-Ukraine .
“A bad peace can be worse than no peace. A frozen conflict is the worst scenario. We must strive for a real, just and lasting peace,” Dragone said.
According to him, the task is very difficult, but it is in this direction that the efforts of Ukraine’s partners should be concentrated.
Currently, there is a partial ceasefire between Kiev and Moscow, particularly in the energy sector and on the Black Sea. However, the Ukrainian side claims that Russia has already violated the terms – the shelling of Kherson was clear confirmation. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recalled that the United States acted as a mediator in the negotiations and must respond to the violation of the agreements.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also questioned Moscow's stated date for the start of the ceasefire.
“Russia says March 18, but that's a fabrication. Real statements were made only on the 25th,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Georgy Tikhiy.
Against the backdrop of such events, NATO representatives emphasize the need not just to establish temporary silence, but to develop a lasting international agreement that will ensure long-term stability and protect Ukrainian sovereignty.
We will also remind you of what is known about the “explosive” FPV glasses of the Russians and the special operation of the Ukrainian GUR.
