The film by Ukrainian director Pavlo Ostrikov “You Are the Universe” won the prestigious jury prize at the science fiction festival in Verona, Italy. This success underlines the international recognition of Ukrainian cinema and its outstanding representatives on the world stage.
As reported by URA-Inform, citing the State Film Agency of Ukraine on Facebook , Ostrikov’s film was noted for its uniqueness and creative approach to the science fiction genre.
“The film “Ti-Cosmos”, directed by Pavel Ostrikov, received the jury prize at the Extra sci-fi festival Verona,” the official statement says.
“You Are Space” is a science fiction tragicomedy, which is a joint production of Ukraine and Belgium. The film was created with the support of the State Film Agency and has already managed to get into the list of the best films of 2024 according to the British Film Institute. The visual and conceptual components of the film attracted the attention of viewers and critics, which is confirmed by its success at international film festivals.
