US President Donald Trump's national security adviser Mike Walz accidentally added Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg to a secret chat on Signal because he mistakenly saved his number as someone else's contact.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to The Guardian.

According to journalists, the White House Office of Information Technology conducted an examination to determine how Goldberg got into the secret chat. Consequently, it turned out that the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic magazine had previously sent an email to the Trump presidential campaign regarding a story in which the politician was criticized for his attitude towards wounded servicemen.

The email was sent to Trump's then-press secretary Brian Hughes. He copied it and forwarded the entire contents to Volz so that he would be informed of the potentially scandalous story. As a result of the correspondence, Volz accidentally saved Jeffrey Goldberg's number under the name “Brian Hughes.” However, it was established that Walt never called the saved number.

The mistake went unnoticed until Walz tried to add Hughes to a secret Signal chat where strikes on the Houthis were being discussed.

Let us recall that earlier it was reported when the war in Ukraine might end: Tymoshenko named the exact dates.
