US Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff is currently in Russia, where he is expected to meet with President Vladimir Putin on April 11.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Axios.

According to people familiar with the trip and information provided by FlightRadar, Witkoff is on a diplomatic mission to Russia and is scheduled to meet with the Russian leader on Friday.

Information sources note that US President Donald Trump was disappointed with the lack of progress in the talks recently. He also expressed dissatisfaction with Putin's comments on the situation in Ukraine, which, according to Trump, “made him angry.”

If a ceasefire is not reached by the end of the month, the US president could impose additional sanctions on Russia, Axios reports. These sanctions could be imposed through the executive branch, or Trump could ask Congress to pass new legislation to strengthen the sanctions.

At the same time, Politico predicted which region could become Putin’s new “hot spot.”
