Oleksandr Usyk, the reigning heavyweight champion under the WBA, WBO, WBC, and IBO titles, is set to face Britain’s Daniel Dubois, the current IBF titleholder, in a unification bout on July 19 at Wembley Stadium in London. The clash will determine the next undisputed heavyweight champion, reports Baltimore Chronicle.
The boxing night in London will kick off around 7:00 PM Kyiv time with undercard bouts. The main event featuring Usyk and Dubois is scheduled to begin at approximately 11:30 PM. This will be the second meeting between the fighters. Their first encounter took place in August 2023 in Wrocław, Poland, where Usyk stopped Dubois in the ninth round, successfully defending his WBO, WBA, IBO, and IBF titles.
For Usyk, this fight presents a chance to reclaim the undisputed status in the heavyweight division. The Ukrainian became the unified champion after defeating Tyson Fury in May 2024 but later vacated the IBF belt to grant Fury a rematch.
Following Usyk’s decision, the IBF promoted Daniel Dubois from interim to full champion. In September 2024, Dubois defended his newly acquired title by knocking out fellow Briton Anthony Joshua at Wembley.
Usyk, 38, holds an unblemished professional record of 23 wins, 14 by knockout. In his most recent bout, he once again defeated Fury in December 2024, retaining his WBA, WBO, WBC, and IBO titles.
Dubois, aged 27, enters the fight with 22 victories (21 by KO) in 24 matches. His only losses came against Joe Joyce in 2020 and Usyk in 2023.
