British actor Tom Holland, best known for his role in the “Spider-Man” films, has spoken openly about health challenges he has faced since childhood. The star revealed that he lives with dyslexia and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Both conditions cannot be completely cured but can be managed through therapy and specific treatment methods, reports Baltimore Chronicle citing IGN.
According to Holland, dyslexia makes reading and writing more difficult, even though his vision and intelligence are not affected. In addition, ADHD causes issues with concentration, restlessness, and impulsive behavior.
The actor admitted that he sometimes faces obstacles during the preparation for new roles due to these conditions. However, Holland believes that engaging in creative activities from a young age helps people develop original approaches and strengthen their creativity, which positively influences personal growth overall.
“I have ADHD and dyslexia, and sometimes when I’m given a blank canvas, it can feel intimidating. These challenges often arise while building a character. That’s why any opportunity to think outside the box, embrace creativity, and make changes—whether or not they’re in the script—contributes to healthy creativity. And I think the more we do that in both youth and adulthood, the better,” Holland said.
