On the night of April 24, 2025, Kyiv was hit by one of the most devastating airstrikes in recent months. Russian forces launched waves of drones, as well as ballistic and guided missiles at the capital of Ukraine. The explosions began around 1 a.m. and continued for several hours, accompanied by intensive work from Ukrainian air defense forces, reports the Baltimore Chronicle, citing The Guardian.
According to official reports, at least 12 people were killed, and over 90 were injured. Among the casualties were six children and a pregnant woman. In the Svyatoshyn district, rescue teams continued their search efforts, using dogs and engineering units. Mobile phones ringing under the rubble suggest there may be survivors trapped beneath the debris.
Kyiv’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, reported significant destruction: residential buildings, cars, and infrastructure were destroyed. Fires broke out in several districts due to fragments of downed missiles.
This attack prompted a response from U.S. President Donald Trump, who took to social media to address Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying, “Vladimir, stop!”
