The Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Sergei Kislitsa, informed the Security Council about the consequences of Russia’s massive attack on Ukraine, noting that by killing “innocent people in Ukraine and beyond its borders,” the Russian Federation feels free.

Direct speech : “Just look at the list of targets that were so “boldly” destroyed by Russia last night. A maternity ward, educational institutions, a shopping center, 45 multi-story residential buildings, private houses, two churches, retail and storage facilities, and a parking lot.

Given reports of a Russian missile hitting Polish airspace during a Russian strike, we reiterate that Russian air terror poses a dangerous threat not only to Ukraine, but also to neighboring countries.

The only way to prevent its consequences is to continue to support Ukraine by further strengthening our defense capabilities.”

“And as long as Russia is able to kill the trust and integrity of the Security Council, it will be free to kill innocent people in Ukraine and beyond.”

Let us remind you : the United States accused Russia of deliberately distracting the UN Security Council with topics about the Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine ten years ago, while Moscow was preparing a large-scale missile and air strike on Ukrainian cities.

Background :

  • On the night of December 29, Russia launched its most massive air strike against Ukraine. Kyiv, Kharkov, Dnepr, Odessa, Lvov, Zaporozhye and other cities were under attack.
  • According to the Air Force, the Russian Federation has used almost all types of weapons at its disposal. Air defense managed to destroy 114 of 158 enemy air targets.
  • The Office of the President previously reported 26 dead and more than 120 injured.
  • Interior Minister Igor Klimenko said that as of 19:30, 30 people were killed and more than 160 wounded as a result of the massive Russian strike on December 29.
