More than 500 thousand anti-tank mines have been installed on the probable directions of Russian attack from the north, - Naev

Russian occupiers from the north more than 500 thousand anti-tank mines have been installed.

This was announced by the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Sergei Naev.

He noted that as part of the stabilization operation, engineering equipment of the defense lines was carried out, including fortification equipment and a system of engineering barriers. Efforts to improve equipment and maintenance continue.

Nayev also said that since the beginning of June 2022, more than 500 thousand anti-tank mines have been installed in the main directions of a possible enemy offensive. Anti-tank minefields and groups of anti-tank mines have been created. Sets of anti-personnel explosive devices, land mines, mines and others were installed.

The density of minefields in the Northern operational zone has been increased 16 times. At the same time, non-explosive barriers were installed and transport infrastructure facilities, including bridges and roads, were prepared for destruction.

Work continues on the fortification equipment of the second line positions with the active participation of local authorities.

< "We are jointly creating conditions for to ensure that the state border of Ukraine in the Northern operational zone becomes absolutely impassable for enemy forces. In close cooperation with the heads of military administrations, we are building military engineering and fortification structures, installing additional surveillance cameras. This work was carried out 24/7 all 365 days year," Naev noted.

Continuous interaction with military administrations has also been organized to protect critical infrastructure by installing additional fortifications and equipment and increasing the number of mobile air defense fire groups.

Let us recall that in November Poland deployed a new tank battalion on the border with Belarus to prevent an attack by the Russians.
