The majority of explosive objects were found and neutralized in the Kharkov region.
During December 2023, mine clearance units of the State Special Transport Service discovered, seized and neutralized 6,171 explosive objects.
As reported by the General Staff, the most explosive objects were found in Kharkov region – 4343. In Kherson region – 1050, Nikolaev region – 703, Donetsk region – 75.
The department also clarified that they managed to clear mines and check an area of 7409.01 hectares:
- < li>In the Kherson region – 7073.88 hectares,
- In Nikolaevskaya – 195.58 hectares,
- In Kharkovskaya – 124.87 hectares,
- In Donetskaya – 14.68 hectares.

In total, since the beginning of large-scale aggression, 8 explosive objects.
Also, as noted at the General Staff, an area of 49,123.98 hectares has been cleared (checked):
- Water areas – 21.66 hectares
- Highways – 781.39 km
- Railway tracks – 2293.68 km
- Power lines – 399.28 km
- Gazogonov – 36.07 km .
- The Ministry of Defense created 10 battalions and three companies for demining de-occupied territories. The deputy minister added that more than 174 thousand sq. km. The territories of Ukraine are potentially contaminated with explosive objects due to Russian aggression.
- In addition, the government is allocating UAH 788 million for mine clearance and fortifications. UAH 759 million will be allocated for the purchase of motor vehicles, and UAH 29 million for special equipment.
