“A year later, one of the companies involved in the creation of NASAMS systems claims that it does not have a contract for Canadian donation ”, the publication reports.
Last week, a spokesperson for Kongsberg, one of the NASAMS manufacturers, indicated in an email that the company does not have a contract with the United States for a Canadian order for Ukraine.

The agreements stipulated that Canada would reimburse the United States for the full cost of the NASAMS system. In turn, the United States will enter into a contract for the supply of these weapons from Ukraine.
In this way, Canada could bypass the requirement to obtain US permission to re-export NASAMS to Ukraine.
“Although Canada paid for the NASAMS system in March, it is still unclear when it will arrive in Ukraine. It is also unclear whether the Canadian Ministry of Defense understands this. The speaker said that the ministry is working with American colleagues to determine the timing,” notes the Canadian media.
