Ukraine is among the top 5 countries with the greatest improvement in ranking over the past 10 years.
The Ukrainian international passport has risen by two positions and took 32nd place in the international ranking of Henley&Partners, Ukrinform reports.
A country's position in the ranking is determined by the number of countries its citizens can enter without first obtaining a visa (without a visa or with a visa on arrival). The passports of all countries in question are biometric.
Ukrainian passport holders can travel without a visa or with a visa on arrival to 148 countries.
32nd position Ukraine shares with Grenada and St. Lucia in the Caribbean.
“Ukraine is among the top 5 countries with the largest improvement in ranking over the past 10 years (net overall increase of 21 positions). It rose another two positions over the past year,” the company added.
First place is shared by France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore and Spain (194 countries). The last place in the ranking is taken by Afghanistan (28 countries).
The Henley&Partners Passport Index quarterly analyzes the visa rules of 227 countries and territories of the world, distributing them by the number of countries with visa-free entry. The ranking has been based for more than 10 years in collaboration with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which maintains the world's largest database of travel information.
At the beginning of 2023, the Ukrainian passport occupied 36th position in the international ranking of the company's Passport Index Henley&Partners.
