3,000 units of supplied military clothing did not meet the requirements of the Ministry of Defense.
Kiev entrepreneur Operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations in Kiev and Kiev police investigators exposed a scheme to embezzle budget funds during the supply of uniforms to a military unit.
According to the National Police, an agreement was concluded between one of the Kyiv military units and the enterprise for the purchase of 3,000 units of military clothing. The contractor must provide military personnel with uniforms for a total amount of more than UAH 25 million.
However, as it turned out, the uniform could not be used for its intended purpose, since it did not meet the technical conditions of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
As a result of the transaction, damage amounted to more than 25 million hryvnia.
During the searches, law enforcement officers seized documentation confirming the illegal actions of the defendant: an agreement, invoices, charter, sample signatures, etc. Measures are continuing to collect evidence to bring all persons involved in the corruption scheme to justice.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 12 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years and with confiscation of property.
