“An ex-policeman who provided the Russian FSB with data on the deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and law enforcement agencies in the Kharkov region was sentenced to life imprisonment,” the Office of the Prosecutor General reported.
He was given the maximum possible punishment – life imprisonment with confiscation of property. “This is the first sentence in the Kharkov region in which a law enforcement officer was sentenced to life imprisonment,” the prosecutor’s office noted.
It was proven in court that at the beginning of a full-scale Russian invasion, the GUNP detective in the Kharkov region was contacted by his brother, an FSB employee in the Belgorod region.
A relative set the policeman the task of transmitting intelligence data about the locations and movements of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the locations of law enforcement officials, checkpoints in Kharkov and the Kharkov region, the movement of military equipment.
“The convict, using his professional skills, secretly photographed objects with geolocations and sent it to his brother from the FSB via Telegram. Among the buildings photographed by the police officer were a shopping center in Kharkov and the regional department of the SBU,” the message says.
The traitor was detained in May 2022. Law enforcement officers detained a man in the Kharkov region in May 2022. Unregistered weapons were found in his official car, including F1 and RGN fragmentation grenades.
The traitorous policeman was found with live grenades. The convict was fired from the National Police of Ukraine.
