As a result of complex measures, war crimes were documented:

During the full-scale Russian invasion, they commanded the bombing of residential areas in the village of Borodyanka in Kievskaya areas .
According to the investigation, at the beginning of March 2022, Chaiko gave a direct order to fire at apartment buildings. To carry out the task, Kravchenko used SU-34 fighter-bombers and SU-25 attack aircraft from the 303rd mixed aviation division of the Russian Federation.

During the departure, enemy planes fired 500-kilogram high-explosive bombs on residential buildings in which the residents of Borodyanka were located at that time.
As a result of the air attack, the Russians destroyed six apartment buildings, which led to the death of more than 30 local residents, including a young girl. In addition, some of the affected residents have not yet been identified; they are considered missing.
During the investigation, more than 200 examinations were carried out. Based on the evidence collected, investigators informed both Russian generals of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 28 and part 2 of Art. 438 of the Criminal Code (violation of the laws and customs of war, involving premeditated murder, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons).
Last year, the SBU completed an investigation into a man who approved the seizure of Borodyanka and was proud of the crimes of the Russians.
- The main route of the Russian offensive towards Kyiv passed through Borodyanka. Russian armored vehicles appeared on the outskirts of the village on February 26, 2022, and skirmishes and battles began with the terrorist defense forces, and subsequently with the police. On the same day, six people died from the shelling of Borodyanka. On February 28, a large column drove along Central Street, firing cannons and machine guns at the buildings.
- At the beginning of March, the Russian army captured Borodyanka. The occupiers did not allow local residents to clear the rubble, robbed shops and shot civilians.
- On April 1, 2022, the village was liberated. According to local authorities, the occupiers completely destroyed 8 and partially damaged 32 multi-story buildings, and throughout the community, about 500 private houses were destroyed and about 450 more were partially destroyed or damaged. According to satellite images, 42 destroyed, 52 seriously damaged and 60 moderately damaged structures were counted in Borodyanka.
- 41 dead were found under the rubble of buildings in Borodyanka. In addition, more than 300 bodies were found in burials made by local residents during the occupation.
- On May 2, 2022, State Emergency Service workers rescued a cat from the seventh floor of a destroyed house, which had spent about two months there without water or food.
- In November 2022, the world-famous artist Banksy visited Borodyanka, who left graffiti on the destroyed houses of the village dedicated to children during the Russian invasion and occupation.
