Ukraine is counting on increasing its own capacity with the help of international partners.
In 2023, the enterprises of the Ukrainian Defense Industry joint-stock company doubled their production in monetary terms. In units of production, these enterprises produced more than 600,000 units of various weapons and equipment – a thousand more than a year earlier.
But the needs are still greater than production volumes – not only of the entire military-industrial complex of Ukraine, but and most countries of the world. General Director of Ukroboronprom German Smetanin announced this during the discussion “How can we win the war: prospects for Ukrainian industry”, organized by LB.ua and EFI Group.
He emphasized that we are at war with a country that is spending crazy amounts of money from the budget on the purchase of weapons.
“Few countries in the world that can afford such expenses can compete with it,” said Smetanin.
Ukraine hopes to increase its own production thanks to the help of partner countries.
>“We are ready for contracting, ready to increase production volumes monthly,” added Smetanin.
- Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrei Lebedenko believes that a breakthrough is only possible through technology. He explained that Ukraine is currently working to improve communication between the army, manufacturers and scientific and technical institutions in order to realize the technological needs of the army.
- Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries Anna Gvozdyar believes that innovation and technological development is the key to victory, but we must not forget about traditional weapons, the production of which must be increased.
