If at first citizens needed basic things and generators, now most of all they need services.
This year the needs of Ukrainians for humanitarian assistance. Today there is a request for services for people.
Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Oksana Zholnovich said this in a comment to LB.ua.
As of 2024, almost all humanitarian assistance needs have been met. The most difficult issue remains everything that is transferred to the military. Here we have many refusals when it comes even to social services for military personnel and their families – training of social specialists. Many foundations refused, citing the fact that they could not finance those involved in military matters. This is very sad, because it is our citizens who are most at risk right now. It is they who would like to provide the humanitarian aspect,” Zholnovich said.
The minister explained that the needs of Ukrainians for humanitarian assistance changed over the course of the war. If during the displacement of people at the beginning of the invasion, Ukrainians needed to provide basic needs, then during the blackouts there was a need for generators. Today, humanitarian aid needs to change again.
“Humanitarian assistance is important and necessary for Ukraine. But since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, everyone has been focusing on some natural things: food packages and so on. Obviously, they are important in a combat zone, but throughout the country, humanitarian assistance is now important, as is support services. We are talking about multidisciplinary teams providing psychological support. These are the things that help a person settle in a new place; help to systematically formulate infrastructure services – provide water or shelter,” she explained.
During the dialogue “Helping war victims: effectiveness in assistance,” Zholnovich recalled that in December last year the list of humanitarian aid goods was canceled.
“We created an automated Prozorro system, where we are now We see every product that comes in and to whom it is distributed. And it should be given to those in need. Yes, you won’t sell it at the market. When this assistance is already strictly taken into account, it will be impossible to manipulate it,” the minister added.
