This was announced by the Chairman of the Board of NEC “Ukrenergo” Vladimir Kudrytsky during a press conference at the Ukraine-Ukrinform Media Center.
“Yesterday the enemy targeted a solar power plant. This is the first, at least in my memory, a case of a targeted attack on a renewable energy facility,” Kudritsky said.
He clarified that this is not an attack within the combat zone, but rather a strike on the rear SES.
Kudritsky noted that as a result of warming, overall electricity consumption is falling, so there is no acute shortage in the Ukrainian energy system yet. At the same time, there is a seasonal increase in electricity production at solar power plants.
