So, she said, Ukraine already in 2014 and 2015 accepted two statements about the recognition of the jurisdiction of the ISS, so the country “has actually already recognized its jurisdiction diction” .
“The ISS can already attract our citizens to the point of recognition. There are no new risks with the ratification of the Rome Statute. And it is necessary to clearly understand and explain to the military that we have begun to work,” Mudra said.
The official also added, that the ISS has a complementary nature – it complements the national judicial systems of powers to ensure the irrevocability of punishment for serious international crimes.
Therefore, the representative of the OP, the ISS can exercise its jurisdiction This is why the national courts of a power cannot or cannot want to independently investigate these crimes.
Previously it was reported that the Office of the President had discussions about the need to ratify the Rome Statute. At the end of the discussion, the participants reached a decision that ratification would not incur the daily risks of Ukraine.
