Since the beginning of the year, sappers have returned hectares of agricultural land in Ukraine .
Prime Minister Denis Shmigal announced this.
He noted that over the past six months the number of certified mine action operators has increased by more than one and a half times. To date, there are already 43 of them certified.
In June, First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy Yulia Sviridenko in an interview with LB.ua said that 10% of arable land in Ukraine remains contaminated with explosive substances.
Previously it was also reported that last year about 330 thousand hectares of agricultural land were cleared in Ukraine.
Within two years from the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine Mine clearance specialists from the Ministry of Defense managed to check and clear 30 thousand square kilometers of Ukrainian territory.
