New dates are holy in the sickle
Serpen in Ukraine will once again be “rich” for the Holy Day, but the calendar has undergone changes. After the transition of the Orthodox (OCU) and Greek Catholic (UGCC) Ukrainian churches to the New Year calendar, the dates of most religious saints (not due to the Great Day) shifted to 13 days earlier.

- Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Persha the Most Holy) – 15 sickles ( previously 28 sickles);
- Transfer of the miraculous image of Jesus Christ (Horiekhovy Savior) – 16 sickles (previously 29 sickles);
- The beheading of the head of the holy prophet Ivan the Baptist (Golovosik) – 29th sickle (previously 11th spring).
Before the Holy Dormition of the Theotokos, pass the Assumption Day. The period has also changed – from the 1st to the 14th September 2024 (previously 14-27 September).
Three Saviors: if they are correctly identified
In the Serpny Ukraine there are three saints, as they may be called pass (Holy All-merciful Savior), but the traditions and history of these days vary. The fates of the church and people's faiths are intertwined, so it is not only the religious faiths that are at stake, but also the nativeness of the earth.
- Honey Savior 1 serpnya
The first Savior is popularly called Honey, Makovy, or Savior on the water. In the church calendar, this is the day of the transference of the Holy Cross, the Maccabee martyrs.

The Church voted holy 1 sickle in honor of the execution of part of the cross, at which Jesus Christ was crucified, from the imperial palace to the Church of Hagia Sophia. On what day they also believe that these brothers of the Maccabees, who paid the price for their faith, paid for their faith.

The folk tradition sacredly avoided the end of the grain harvest and the harvest of fruits.

On a holy day in the church, it is traditional to bless the seed and ears of wheat from the new harvest, even during this period the stubble is being harvested. Light candles at churches for the health of your family and friends, and pray for their well-being. On the day the biennial Assumption feast ends, you can prepare savory food for the table.
The Dormition of the Theotokos on the 15th sickle is also called the Persha Prechista. Feast of the Mother of God on the 21st Veresny – this is the Most Pure Friend. The people sacredly rejected the name Golovosiki. It was taken into account that this day it is not possible to cut anything, so that the name reminds the head of the bread. It was forbidden to eat round vegetables and fruits, as well as the fruits of the red color, in order to predict blood.
As a side note, Golovosikki – we hold out fate one day, if it is a sin to cook and eat borscht, and even “if you cut a head of cabbage on this day, then blood may bleed.”
How many additional holidays will there be in September 2024
Religious holy days are not included until the change of state, so the weekends from them are not transferred.
In the remaining month of the summer, Ukrainians also celebrate Independence Day. The 24th sickle is an official holiday, and through the military camp in the region, all additional days for the benefit of the sovereign saints are seized.
