According to the head of the Nikopol district military administration, Yevgeny Yevtushenko, according to unofficial information, the enemy set fire to a large number of car tires in the cooling tower of the nuclear power plant.
” Perhaps this is a provocation or an attempt to create panic in populated areas on the right bank of the former reservoir. “So far, Zaporizhzhya NPP is operating in a normal mode, as far as this is possible under occupation,” Yevtushenko noted.
President Volodymyr Zelensky assured that radiation levels are still normal.
According to him, Ukraine is expecting “a reaction from the world, we are expecting a reaction from the IAEA.”
- The IAEA recently reported that the water level in the cooling pond of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant continues to decrease due to the heat.
- A radiation monitoring station has also been destroyed at Zaporizhzhya NPP, which affects the ability to track radiation levels in an emergency scenario.
