Grossi will go to Zaporizhzhya NPP because “they hear explosions and other signs of military activity” there.
Rafael Grossi
Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Ukraine.
In a statement on the IAEA website, the official claims that for the fifth time during the full-scale Russian invasion, “the front line is being crossed to get to the Zaporizhzhya NPP.” In general, this will be his tenth visit to our country since the outbreak of the great war.
Grossi is going to Zaporizhzhya NPP because “nuclear safety remains unstable” and the monitoring group stationed at the station “continues to hear explosions and other signs of military activity near the facility.”
The director emphasizes his “loud and clear message during this tragic war: a nuclear accident must be avoided at all costs, and the nuclear power plant cannot be attacked, because the consequences would be catastrophic and a loss for all parties.”
- Grossi previously commented on the situation with the Kursk NPP: he stated that there is allegedly a risk of a nuclear incident there.
