Ukrainians are receiving messages in messengers allegedly from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine about allegedly serious interruptions in electricity and water supply in the Sumy region due to enemy shelling.
This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.
People are being scared that there will be no electricity or water for three weeks. The attackers are also calling on residents of Sumy region to purchase everything they need “for life in emergency conditions.”
The CPI stated that the State Emergency Service of Ukraine was not involved in such mailings, the messages are fake.
“In addition, the accounts from which these messages are sent are deleted after a few hours, which indicates an organized disinformation campaign. Such fakes are spread in order to create panic among the population, cause distrust of official sources and disorient Ukrainians during the war,” the Center for Countering Disinformation noted.
