Due to Russian aggression, 128,000 sq. km of land and 14,000 sq. km of water in Ukraine are still contaminated with explosive objects.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The department noted that the contamination with explosive objects is the result of a full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation. This has a significant impact on the safety of the civilian population, agriculture, industry and socio-economic growth in the affected regions. “These risks negatively affect the lives of more than 6 million Ukrainians,” said Ruslan Beregulya, Head of the Main Directorate for Mine Action of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
