The “road map” is planned to be presented during a conference in Montreal at the end of October.
Ukraine congratulated France and Canada on the preparation of a “road map” for the return of Ukrainian children abducted by the Russian Federation.
This was announced on the social network X by the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Andriy Sybiga.
“I thank my Canadian and French colleagues Mélanie Joly and Jean-Noël Barrot for their strong statement. I welcome their commitment to working on the return of Ukrainian children and look forward to the ministerial meeting in Canada on the relevant item of the Formula for Peace,” the statement said.
As reported by Ukrinform, earlier Jean-Noël Barrot and Mélanie Joly promised to develop a “road map” with specific measures for the return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia during the ministerial conference on human dimension issues, which will be held in Montreal in late October.
“The Ministerial Conference on the Human Dimension of the 10-Point Peace Formula for Ukraine in Montreal on October 30-31 will allow us to work together to achieve these goals, in particular to develop a roadmap with specific measures for the return home of Ukrainian children who have become victims of Russia's aggressive war,” the statement says.
The French and Canadian Foreign Ministries call on the international community not to forget about Ukrainian children, whose present and future have already suffered from this war.
We condemn the war crimes, murders and sexual violence committed against Ukrainian children, attacks on schools and hospitals, as well as forced illegal displacements and deportations of Ukrainian children. We demand that Russia return Ukrainian children to their families, legal guardians and communities,” the statement reads. Ukraine and with the support of France.

France, in particular, pledged to increase its financial support to a number of civil society actors and the United Nations to achieve these goals.
The ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to Ukraine and its people to provide them with all the means to defend themselves and put an end to Russian aggression.
