Now it is already producing energy again.
One of the Ukrainian nuclear power plants
At the South Ukraine NPP, one reactor was disconnected from the grid this Tuesday. The shutdown lasted about four hours, the IAEA reported.
The cause was a false signal to the unit's protection systems without the reactor's safety systems being triggered. Experts are investigating what caused this.
“The reactor, one of three at the station, is once again producing electricity for the grid,” the report says.
- After the Russian occupation of Zaporizhzhya NPP, nine reactors are operating for the Ukrainian energy system. Zaporizhzhya NPP, the most powerful in Europe, has six power units with a total of 6,000 MW.
