Ukraine has returned the bodies of 563 fallen defenders, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported.
In particular, it was possible to repatriate 320 bodies of defenders killed in the Donetsk direction and 89 fallen soldiers from the Bakhmut direction. It was also possible to return 154 bodies from morgues on the territory of the aggressor country.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine will transport the repatriated bodies and remains to certain government institutions. Law enforcement officials and forensic experts will establish the identities of the deceased.

The number of people injured in a missile attack on an enterprise in Sumy has grown to three – a 36-year-old woman and two men, both 40 years old.
As noted by the prosecutor's office of the Sumy region, the occupiers launched a missile attack on one of the enterprises in the city of Sumy. As a result of the enemy attack, two workers were injured. The property of the enterprise was damaged.
The EU Council has decided to extend the mandate of the Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine) for another two years, the EU Council website reports.
The training will last until 15 November 2026 with a budget allocation of almost 409 million euros.
“In line with today's decision, the EU Security Assistance and Training Mission to Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine) will cooperate with NATO, in particular with the NATO Security Assistance and Training Programme for Ukraine (NSATU), and will exchange information with it in a transparent, reciprocal and inclusive manner,” the EU Council noted.
Currently, EUMAM has trained 63,000 Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers and will train another 15,000 fighters in the coming months.
During a government meeting, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that there are and will be no restrictions on people collecting firewood. The President will not sign the bill.
He also stressed that the government will assist Ukrainians who collect firewood for heating their homes in winter. “In rural areas, this is an important reserve, and sometimes the main fuel.”
Shmigal adds that the government has a corresponding support program, which it is implementing together with partners.
