Alexander Syrsky and Thierry Burkar
Chief of the General Staff of the French Armed Forces General Thierry Burkar about the operational situation at the front.
Syrsky reported this on Facebook.
“I had a telephone conversation with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the French Republic, General Thierry Burkar. During the conversation, I shared information about the operational situation on the front line. I informed my French colleague about the specifics of defense operations in the most tense areas,” the Commander-in-Chief wrote.
Burkar confirmed the intentions of the French side to continue providing logistical assistance and training to Ukrainian servicemen as part of the EU training mission (EUMAM). Currently, the adaptation of training programs in accordance with the needs and taking into account the combat experience of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues.
Syrsky thanked France for its consistent support of the defenders of Ukraine.
- Recall that in June, Burkar sent a letter to his partners inviting them to join the training mission. The addressees include the United States, Great Britain, Poland, the Netherlands, the Baltic countries, Denmark and Sweden. The American government opposed such an initiative. White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby explained at the time that Washington had made it clear from the start that it did not want to send troops to Ukraine.
