<p>The Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine has released a number of documents from archival funds indicating surveillance of representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora who tried to tell the world about the famine of 1932-1933 in our state.</p>
<p>This is stated on the SVR website.</p>
<p>Circulars and instructions from Kyiv to the regional KGB departments spoke about the measures that must be taken “to counter the hostile actions of foreign national centers.”</p>
<p>Russia collected information about the work of Ukrainian émigré organizations in this direction, such as the World Congress of Free Ukrainians, the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, the Ukrainian Committee of Canada, the Union of Ukrainians in Great Britain, the State Center of the UPR in Exile, and the OUN.</p>
<p>Moscow instructed its agents to monitor foreigners who came to the Ukrainian SSR to determine whether they were interested in the topic of the Holodomor.</p>
<p>“Those who showed increased interest were to be taken into active operational development, and upon leaving the USSR, subjected to thorough customs inspection so that they did not bring in any materials, lists, documents, or photographs. telephone communication of such information,” the foreign intelligence reported.</p>
