The president also once again stressed that Ukraine needs an invitation to NATO and further expansion of its long-range capabilities.

<p>President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Among other things, the head of state thanked Britain for its readiness to annually allocate at least 3 billion pounds sterling for the needs of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the President's Office. </p>
<p>“We discussed another act of Russian air terror against the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine using more than 90 missiles and almost 100 drones. Particular attention was paid to the issue of further defense cooperation. I am grateful to the UK for its large-scale support, in particular for its willingness to annually allocate at least 3 billion pounds sterling for the needs of Ukraine,” the statement said. </p>

The parties agreed to be in close contact with European leaders regarding steps that should put Ukraine in the strongest possible position in the face of developments.

“I stressed that for this Ukraine needs an invitation to NATO and further build-up of long-range capabilities,” the president said in a conversation with Starmer.

In addition, the parties discussed Ukraine’s possible participation in the Joint Expeditionary Force summit next month in Tallinn, where it is invited by Estonia. This year, Ukraine became the only country to participate as an observer in the JEF Joint Protector 2024 exercises. “We are interested in deepening cooperation with this association,” Zelensky noted.

They also agreed to speed up the preparation of an agreement on a 100-year partnership between Ukraine and the UK.
