The court again imposed duties on the former chairman of Naftogaz Kobolev

Court re-imposes duties on former Naftogaz chairman <p>The High Anti-Corruption Court granted the motion of the SAP prosecutor and imposed procedural duties on the former chairman of the board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Kobolev.</p> <p>This was reported by the press service of the SAP.</p> <p>Thus, according to the court's decision, Kobolev is required to inform the court about changes in his place of residence, refrain from communicating with witnesses, and also hand over all passports for travel abroad to the State Migration Service for safekeeping.</p> <p>It should be noted that on November 1, the SAP prosecutor filed a motion with the court to extend the period of validity of the procedural obligations imposed on the accused in connection with the application of a preventive measure in the form of bail in the amount of UAH 107 million 127 thousand.</p> <p>However, the next court hearings at which the court was supposed to consider this petition, namely November 5 and 8, did not take place at the initiative of the court. Therefore, the period of validity of procedural obligations expired on November 12. </p> <p>The SAP sent letters to the HAKS demanding that the petition for an extension of the preventive measure be considered before its expiration. However, an additional hearing was never scheduled. </p> <h3>What is known about the case</h3> <p>Kobolev is accused of abusing his official position in 2018 and initiating a review of the issue of bonuses by the Naftogaz Supervisory Board. He then set his own bonus at $10 million. At the same time, Kobolev allegedly deliberately hid information about the maximum bonus amounts from the members of the Appointments and Remuneration Committee and the Supervisory Board of the company. </p> <p>The investigation established that during 2018, Kobolev was illegally awarded and paid a bonus in an amount exceeding the maximum permissible amount – UAH 229,250,410. </p> <p>In October last year, the HACC already continued Kobolev's assigned duties. And before that, it reduced the amount of bail by UAH 122 million and removed the electronic bracelet from the suspect. </p> <p>On November 20, SAP reported that the VAKS had not extended the term of the obligations imposed on the former chairman of the board of Naftogaz, so he can travel abroad. Kobolev responded to this message and published a photo at the Golden Gate and noted that he was in Kyiv. He emphasized that he had not missed a single court hearing on his case. In a comment to LB.ua, Kobolev confirmed that his passport had been returned to him and promised to inform the court about his trips. </p> <p><!--noindex--></p> <p><a rel=lb.ua
