Gorlovsky (Sarkisyan)
The Security Service and the National Police have documented new crimes by Armen Sarkisyan, a crime boss from Donbass who is hiding in the temporarily occupied territory and cooperating with the Russian occupiers.
This was reported by the SBU press center.
Sargsyan (known as Armen Gorlovsky) is a member of the inner circle of fugitive President Viktor Yanukovych. Since May 2014, he has been wanted internationally for organizing murders in the center of Kyiv.
After the start of the full-scale war, Sargsyan, on instructions from the FSB, created a new armed formation for the war against Ukraine – “a separate special forces battalion “ArBAT””. It is based on repeat offenders convicted of murder, robbery and other serious crimes. To recruit prisoners, Sargsyan was appointed the so-called “overseer” of the prisons in the occupied part of Donbas.
According to the SBU counterintelligence, at first “ArBAT” fought in the Toretsk direction, and later the group was transferred to the Kursk region.
It is also known that Sarkisyan uses controlled companies to purchase thermal imagers, fuel and building materials for the needs of the occupiers on the front line.
So far, he has been notified in absentia of suspicion under several articles of the Criminal Code: Part 7 of Article 111-1 (voluntary participation in illegal armed or paramilitary formations or provision of assistance by such a formation in conducting military operations against the Armed Forces of Ukraine); Part 3 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 111-2 (aiding an aggressor state committed by an organized group of persons by prior conspiracy).
