The department called on people to quickly follow instructions and seek shelter during an air raid alarm.
>Today, December 8, the US Embassy in Kyiv warned its citizens about the increased threat of rocket and drone attacks.
This is stated on the department's website.
“Due to the increasing threats from Russian missiles and drones targeting critical civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv urges U.S. citizens to exercise increased caution,” the statement said.
They also urged all U.S. citizens to monitor the Ukrainian government for air strike alerts, including through an app on their mobile phone.
“U.S. citizens should obey all government curfews and promptly follow instructions to seek shelter during an air raid alert,” the embassy noted.
They advised people to identify shelter locations, download a reliable air raid alert app such as Air Alert or Alarm Map to their mobile phone, seek shelter when an air raid alert is announced, and follow the instructions of Ukrainian officials and first responders in the event of an emergency.
- The embassy last appeared to issue a warning in November. It closed then.
