Bashar al-Assad asked the Russian dictator for military assistance, but did not receive it.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin did not help his ally Bashar al-Assad, and refused to release Syrian mercenaries to help Assad's regular army.
This was reported by the Center for National Resistance.
“Bashar al-Assad asked the Russian dictator for military assistance and to release mercenaries from Syria to defend his regime, who Russians recruited Ukraine for the war,” the report says.
However, Putin refused his ally, which is why he effectively lost Syria.
