In Kyiv, police detained a man who damaged flags and photographs of fallen soldiers on the Maidan Nezalezhnosti at night.
This was reported by the press service of the National Police.
“Information about the event was received this morning by the Shevchenko Police Department. A local resident told law enforcement officers that found damaged flags and photographs of the dead soldiers on Maidan Nezalezhnosti. As a result of the operational activities, the police identified the offender, who turned out to be a 36-year-old native of Sumy Oblast,” the report says.
The man was detained by a patrol squad. It is noted that the offender was in an agitated state and after examination by doctors was hospitalized in a specialized medical institution.
Currently, the issue of providing the event with a legal qualification is being resolved.

- In November, the case was sent to court. A preventive measure was applied to the suspect in the form of placement in a psychiatric institution.
