The daughter of one of the cousins of the great Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad caught up in Lebanon. They were arrested at Beirut airport.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine via correspondence with the Associated Press.
As for the presence of law enforcement agencies in Lebanon, we are talking about the squad of Duraid Assad, the son of the great vice president Syria of Rifaat Assad, uncle of Bashar Assad – Rasha Hazem, and my daughter Shams. They were illegally transported to Lebanon, and they are unlikely to fly to Egypt for partial passports.
According to the AP, Rifaat flew in advance with his valid passport.
It appears that the brother of Bashar’s father Hafez al-Assad, Rifaat al-Assad, defeated an artillery bomber that shelled the place of Hama and killed thousands of people. They call him “The Butcher Hami.”
In the spring of 2024, the Swiss prosecutor's office charged Rifaat with war crimes and crimes against humanity more than ten years ago.
The fall of the Assad regime
Just a few years ago, rebels toppled the regime of dictator Bashar al-Assad in Syria. Bashar al-Assad himself has reached Russia. Moscow said that the dictator had voluntarily handed over power.
Russia is in agreement with Syria to withdraw its ships from naval bases, and is also transferring surplus military equipment from bases, shelters and on the territory Lebanon.
In Ukraine, the renewal of diplomatic relations with the new order of Syria is not included. President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine sent 500 tons of beech wheat to Syria.
