Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly said on her X page that she made her first phone call since the start of the country's presidency of the “Big Seven” to her Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sybiga.
The government official called our country “a priority for the G7” and assured that Canada “will always remain a strong ally of Ukraine.” She discussed the current state of affairs and future needs with the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Canada's bid for the G7 will continue throughout 2025, with the province of Alberta hosting the annual summit.
