Another 26 enemy drones failed to reach their targets.
Air Defense
On the night of January 3, 2025 (from 21:00 on January 2), the enemy attacked with 93 Shahed-type attack UAVs and drone imitators of various types. Air Defense shot down 60 of them, and another 26 were lost.
According to the Air Force, the Russian Federation launched attack drones from Bryansk, Millerovo, and Orel.
As of 09.00 confirmed the destruction of 60 Shahed-type attack UAVs and other types of drones in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk regions.
Due to active counteraction by the Defense Forces, 26 enemy drone imitators were lost (without negative consequences), one – in the air.
As a result of the Russian drone attack, several strike UAVs hit private enterprises and apartment buildings in Donetsk and Chernihiv regions. The downed Shaheds also caused damage in Kyiv region: private houses and cars were damaged in several areas. Unfortunately, there are casualties.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
In 2024, the Ukrainian air defense shot down more than 1,300 missiles and 11,200 attack drones of the enemy.
