Prisoner of war and civilians between Russia and Ukraine in 2025 should be systematic.
This was announced by Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets on the Rada channel.
According to him, he reached such an agreement during one of the meetings with Russian Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova.
“We have preliminarily agreed that exchanges in 2025 should take place systematically. We will see if the Russian side keeps its word.
The Ombudsman added that for the first time it was possible to agree that the lists would be formed based on two parameters.
“Based primarily on physical health – the seriously wounded and seriously ill are returned first. We are ready to form lists in this way,” the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner noted.
Lubinets added that the Ukrainian offensive in Kursk had a positive effect on the exchanges. In addition, at the beginning of this year, another thousand and a half packages should be handed over to Ukrainian prisoners of war. The 59th prisoner exchange took place in 2018. civilians.
